Travel Award
We are pleased to offer Travel Awards of $400 USD to eligible graduate students & postdoctoral fellows attending the conference and presenting a poster abstract.
Application Deadline: August 1st 2025
The ABC Travel Award offers $400 USD to Students and Postdoctoral fellows to help defray expenses associated with in-person conference attendance, including airfare (restrictions may apply based on funding source), ground transportation, lodging, and a portion of the registration fee. Receipts will be required to receive reimbursement.
Abstracts submitted for poster presentation will be used as the basis for awarding the scholarships. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the quality of science of the abstract and the relevance of the abstract to the conference topic. Additionally, a motivation letter will be required and taken into consideration in the decision process. Only one application per abstract is accepted. Only one award per lab will be allocated.
Awardees will be notified individually before the meeting. Reimbursement will be processed after the meeting, pending confirmation of attendance.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Being a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow currently enrolled in an academic institute at the start of the meeting.
2. Must attend the meeting in person and present a poster abstract.
Motivation Letter Instructions
Your letter must include:
1. Personal Information:
- Full Name
- Institution
- Supervisor
- Academic status (MSc Student, PhD Student, or Post Doctoral Fellow)
- Title of your presentation
2. Answering the following questions:
- How would attending the ABC Conference benefit your career?
- How would receiving the Travel Award be beneficial to you?
- Have you applied for other travel awards?
3. Formatting
- Maximum Length: 1 page
- Font: Times New Roman, Size 12
Abstract Reviewing Criteria
1. Relevance to the meeting topic
2. Significance of the scientific question and results
3. Style
- Proper organization
- Grammar and spelling
- Clarity of scientific presentations
- Clear question or hypothesis
- Sufficient background
- The experimental approach and rationale for the approach are clear
- The results are clearly presented
- The interpretation and conclusions are reasonable and logical
